MineXChange logo

MineXChange is an initiative by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to develop Wales as a centre of excellence for metal mine recovery. The aim is to bring together academics and industry figures to share their experiences and develop opportunities in recovering damaged metal mine environments.

Although the project has been running for a few years, the team wanted to develop and increase its reach this year, and as part of this I was asked to create a logo which would be used for the first time at this year’s conference.

The logo features a water wheel (typically used on these sites), a spade, and a simplified thrift flower which often grows wild on these landscapes. The colours were based on those of NRW’s logo.
